Indie studio Fishing Cactus and publisher Untold Tales have announced the release date for Gloomy Eyes, an unusual adventure game with horror elements, which will tell about the friendship between a zombie boy and a girl.

Here's What We Know

In a special trailer the authors said that the release of Gloomy Eyes will take place on the 12th of September.

The first thing to notice about Gloomy Eyes is its grotesque and exaggerated visual style, which is reminiscent of the works of director Tim Burton, whose visual aesthetics and dark fantasy have become synonymous with gothic cinema.

The plot of Gloomy Eyes tells how one not-so-great day the sun stopped shining and the dead began to awaken on Earth. Mankind tries to fight the invasion of zombies, but the main characters - zombie-boy Glummy and ordinary girl Nena - are not embarrassed by these events and they start to become friends.

The authors of Gloomy Eyes take inspiration from the VR film of the same name, which won an award in its category at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in 2019.

The game will offer plenty of puzzles, unusual locations, good humour and mystical atmosphere.

The game is being developed for PC (Steam), Xbox Series, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch of both generations.

A demo of Gloomy Eyes is already available on Steam.
