After releasing the Oppo F29 in March, it seems that the company is going to skip the F30 and go straight to number 31. Paras Guglani reports that the company is preparing an update to the lineup called the F31/F31 Pro, which will get a battery increase from 6500 to 7000 mAh (likely due to silicon-carbon technology), but other features will not receive significant improvements.

Oppo will use IP68/IP69 water and dust protection, and also certifies the body's durability according to the 360° Armor Body standard - which is great news for a mid-budget smartphone. Interestingly, according to the source, the smartphone will be announced not in spring but next month.

What was in the F29 lineup

The Oppo F29 and F29 Pro are equipped with a 6.7-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a peak brightness of 1200 nits. The F29 Pro 5G is powered by MediaTek's Dimensity 7300 processor, while the standard F29 5G is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset. The Pro model offers up to 12GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage, while the F29 5G supports up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Both phones have stereo speakers.
