Can-Am, part of the BRP group, has unveiled its first electric ATV, the Outlander Electric 2026. The model is not only quieter than traditional ATVs, but also boasts a record-breaking towing capacity for the brand - up to 800kg.

Here's What We Know

The new Outlander is built on the modular Rotax E-Power platform, which BRP already uses in electric snowmobiles and motorbikes. The electric motor produces 47bhp and 72Nm of torque - significantly more than its petrol counterparts. It is thanks to this that Outlander Electric is able to tow more than any other ATV of the company.

The range is more modest: the 8.9 kWh battery provides about 80 km on a single charge - almost half that of petrol-powered models. But charging from 20 to 80 per cent takes about 50 minutes using the Level 2 charging station.

The ATV has a clearance of 305 mm, two-speed transmission and three riding modes: Normal, Sport and Work. But the main emphasis is on "quiet" operation - liquid cooling, modified suspension and special XPS Recon Force tyres minimise noise. This is important for farmers, hunters and gamekeepers who want to avoid scaring farm and wildlife.

Pricing starts at $13,000 dollars, with sales already open through dealers and Can-Am' s website.
