Geely has revealed the $5,000 Livan Smurf compact electric car
Livan Auto, a sub-brand of China's Geely, has revealed the first images of the new Smurf electric city car. It is a compact model with a single engine and LFP battery.
Here's What We Know
The Smurf has a "boxy" design with cute accents. At the front, the round "Forest Spirit Eye" headlights stand out, which together with the silver bumper create a smiley face effect. The charging port is centrally located. The model will be available in monochrome and two-tone configurations with 14-inch 'Vibrant Pinwheel' wheels.
The interior is designed in a minimalist style with rounded shapes. Three colour schemes are available: Sakura Pink, Castle Grey and Forest Green. The equipment includes a two-spoke steering wheel, puck shifter and a hovering centre screen.
Livan Smurf dimensions are 3100 × 1558 × 1610 mm, with a wheelbase of 2015 mm. The weight is 815kg, with a gross weight of 1,125kg. The standard equipment includes ABS.

The model is powered by a 30 kW (40 hp) electric motor and the top speed is limited at 100 km/h.
The Smurf is a redesigned version of the Geely Panda Mini EV, which sold over 101,000 copies between January and July this year. It is expected to have a battery capacity of about 17 kWh, a range of about 200 kilometres in the optimistic Chinese CLTC cycle and a price of about 36,000 yuan ($5,000).
