It's official: an epic crossover with Halo kicks off next week in Helldivers 2

Sony and Arrowhead Studios have confirmed that the popular co-operative shooter Helldivers 2 will feature a crossover with Halo, one of Microsoft's flagship franchises.

Here's What We Know

As expected, on the day of Helldivers 2's release on Xbox Series - 26 August - the game will launch an event that will feature content related to Halo 3: ODST. This standalone add-on was released in 2009 only on Xbox 360, and the main character was not the famous Master Cheef, but an orbital paratrooper nicknamed Rookie. Like the heroes of Helldivers, he landed on the battlefield in an orbital capsule, and his armour has a lot in common with the costumes of the heroes of the game from Arrowhead.

The developers released a trailer in which they announced that Helldivers 2 will feature A-35 Recon armour, A-9 Helljumper and a passive skill that reduces movement noise, increases the area of interest point detection and protects the player from leg injuries.

Weapons from the Halo universe will also appear in the game:

• MA5 °C assault rifle
• M6 °C/SOCOM pistol
• M90A shotgun
• M7S SMG submachine gun

All of these will be available to players as part of the new Warbond.
