At gamescom 2025 the Polish studio Bloober Team held an extensive gameplay demonstration of the sci-fi horror game Cronos: The New Dawn.

Here's What We Know

The shown footage with developers' comments shows the passage of the sinister Factory, which became the epicentre of the disease that led to the destruction of mankind in the alternative 1980s.

The protagonist Putnica (The Traveler) faces a huge number of creatures called Orphans. Fights with them are complicated by the fact that living individuals absorb body parts of dead monsters and thus become even stronger, so the slogan of the game "Don't let them merge" acquires a practical recommendation: the player should deal with Orphans in such a way that their bodies are at a distance from each other.

The presented material confirms that Cronos: The New Dawn is really a first-class survival horror game, which is reminiscent of Dead Space in terms of dynamics.

Recall, according to the plot of Cronos Putnitsa, who is a member of the secret organisation Kollektiv goes to the past, that to move in time "essences of souls" of important for mankind characters that will help to save the world from extinction - that's what gamers will have to do in the post-apocalyptic Poland of the alternative 80s.

When We Can Expect It

Cronos: The New Dawn will release on 5 September on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch 2.
