Italian developers announced a realistic action-adventure game 1348 Ex Voto, which will interest fans of story-oriented games

During the numerous events taking place at gamescom 2025, young Italian studio Sedleo made an announcement that will interest fans of story-driven games such as A Plague Tale and Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice.

Here's What We Know

The new game is called 1348 Ex Voto, and its events will unfold in medieval Italy, engulfed in war. The main character will be a young warrior named Aeta, who is trying to find and save a loved one and will stop at nothing for the sake of it.

The similarity with the aforementioned games can be seen from the first frames: A Plague Tale is reminded by the basic game mechanics, puzzles and the atmosphere of ruined Europe, and the parallels with Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice are suggested by the dynamic sword fights, which are deliberately shown as brutal as possible and without the romanticisation inherent in many games.

In addition to the fact that the game is inspired by classic chivalric novels, the developers have provided the following description:

To defeat enemies, apply Aeta's skills by strategically choosing between two fighting stances and fighting with one or both hands. Look for skill books throughout your journey - they will help you unlock new combos and diversify Aeta's swordsmanship techniques by engaging different parts of the weapon.

1348 Ex Voto is expected to release in early 2026 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series.
