Apple is facing huge challenges to integrate full artificial intelligence into its Siri voice assistant. The corporation promised that the work would be completed in 2025, but insiders report that the AI version of Siri will not be released until spring 2026 at the earliest.

Authoritative insider and Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman has already reported that Apple is developing an AI-based search engine for Siri to replace ChatGPT, but perhaps the company will choose a different path.

Here's What We Know

Apple is in early talks with Google about the possible use of Gemini artificial intelligence in a new version of Siri voice assistant. This could be an important step in Apple's strategy to incorporate third-party AI technology into its products.

According to Bloomberg's sources, Apple has approached Google with a proposal to create a custom Gemini model that could run on Apple's servers and form the basis for the next-generation Siri. Google has already started training such a model, although talks are in the early stages and do not guarantee a deal.

The potential collaboration between the two tech giants could be mutually beneficial, with Siri getting great AI and Google being able to bring Gemini to millions of Apple devices. Immediately after the Bloomberg story was released, Alphabet's shares rose nearly 4 per cent, while Apple's securities rose 1.5 per cent.
