Honor is working on a sub-flagship lineup that will include the GT2 and GT2 Pro models. The new products are expected to be announced in November or December and will be the first smartphones to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, which is expected to be announced in September.

What we learned about Honor GT 2 from the leaks

The first thing that catches your eye is a record 24 GB of RAM and up to 1 TB of internal storage. With such a margin, the new product will put some competitors' flagships to shame.

The new smartphone will have a capacious 8,800 mAh battery - a significant increase from the 7,200 mAh of the first GT. The smartphone will also support 100W fast charging.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 or Snapdragon 8 Elite chips are expected to be announced; the Pro version is likely to get the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite 2.

The insider reports a 6.7″ OLED LTPS display with 1.5K resolution with an ultrasonic scanner under the screen. The body frame is metal.

Honor GT 2 can become a serious player in the "almost flagship" segment: a massive battery, a top-end chipset, exceptional performance, and a large amount of storage. For those who value autonomy and comfort in multitasking, it looks like a strong alternative to flagships at a lower price.
