Nintendo fans have been waiting for Metroid Prime 4 to be released for a long time. The sequel to the legendary series was announced in 2017, but so far the company hasn't been too active in promoting the game, which is subtitled Beyond.

Previously, gamers were shown a pre-recorded gameplay trailer, but only now there is an opportunity to take a look at the live gameplay of Metroid Prime 4.

Here's What We Know

IGN reporters at gamescom 2025 got a look at the Metroid Prime 4 Beyond demo and shared footage of the game. Although the images were captured not from the screen, but recorded on camera, they confirm that the years-long wait for the game was not in vain. The Metroidvania shooter looks and sounds great, it has decent performance and quality graphics, and the gameplay is fully up to the high standards of the Metroid series.

The video shows you fighting enemies, exploring multi-level locations, using Samus Aran's various abilities, and fighting a strong boss.

When We Can Expect It

Nintendo has yet to reveal a release date for Metroid Prime 4 Beyond, but insists it will be before the end of 2025 on both Switch.
