Media: the wait for the Mass Effect series will be long - filming won't start until late 2026
It is known that the film company Amazon MGM Studios is preparing to produce an ambitious series based on the cult video game series Mass Effect. Since many members of the crew of the highly acclaimed Fallout series are involved in the project, fans of the Commander Shepard story are optimistic and eagerly await the premiere. But it looks like the wait will be seriously prolonged.
Here's What We Know
The portal Production Weekly received at its disposal materials Amazon MGM Studios, in which it was indicated that the beginning of filming of the series Mass Effect is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026.
Of course, with modern technology, filming and post-production takes much less time than it used to, but it's unlikely that the first season of the series will debut (according to very optimistic predictions) before early 2028.
The documents do not contain any information about the plot of the series, but only a short synopsis based on the events of the first Mass Effect game. It is not excluded that the authors will adapt the same story, but it should be noted that it is quite large-scale and even a film adaptation of one game can take several seasons and require a huge plot.
Recall, the writer and executive producer of the series on Mass Effect will be Daniel Casey ("Fast Furious 9" ("Fast Furious 9"), "Cloverfield 10"), and producers will be Avi Arad ("Iron Man", "The Punisher"), Karim Zreik ("Spider-Man: No Way Home", "Borderlands") and Michael Gamble - game director of the new part of Mass Effect. Doug Jung, co-writer of the acclaimed detective thriller "Mindhunter" and the action series "Banshee," will serve as showrunner.
