Interesting details of the electric Porsche Cayenne have been revealed
Porsche is preparing to premiere an all-electric Cayenne, and the first characteristics have already been revealed. The novelty is based on the PPE (Premium Platform Electric) architecture, familiar from the Macan Electric and Audi Q6 e-tron.
Here's What We Know
Autogefuhl journalists got a chance to test drive the prototype and shared some details about the new car. The crossover has been given a 108 kWh battery that will provide approximately up to 600 kilometres of range on the WLTP cycle, depending on the version.
One of the advantages of the Cayenne EV is its charging speed. Porsche claims a peak output of 400 kW: from 10 to 80 per cent, the battery fills up in just 16 minutes. The crossover has two charging ports located at the rear, but fast charging is only available via one of them.
The Cayenne Electric will be offered in three all-wheel drive versions: the base Cayenne (400bhp), Cayenne S (600bhp) and Cayenne Turbo (805bhp). Porsche's own electric motor is used on the rear axle, and a Bosch unit is used at the front.
The suspension is pneumatic, with adaptive shock absorbers with two valves. It allows to reduce ground clearance by 10 mm at speeds above 71 km/h and by 30 mm - when travelling faster than 135 km/h.
Porsche emphasises that the electric Cayenne will not displace the petrol one - the models will be produced in parallel.
