DJI prepares a modular camera Osmo Nano
DJI is preparing a brand new action camera, the Osmo Nano, which could make its debut as early as 10 September. For the first time, the new product will have a modular design that should change the approach to shooting on the go.
DJI Osmo Nano consists of two units - a main module with a camera and a control unit with an OLED screen. The main unit will have two magnetic mounts, and the side mount can change polarity, so the screen can be oriented towards you. Thanks to the magnetic mount, you can quickly change the position of the camera for use in different cases - selfies, group photos or POV shooting. The screen unit contains a massive battery that can charge the main unit by 80% in 20 minutes, as well as an additional microSD memory card.
The main unit has 64GB or 128GB of internal storage. The camera comes with a magnetic cap clip, chest mount, suction cup for smooth surfaces, headband and clothing clip. The camera is compatible with Action Series accessories via a quick-connect adapter. There is no word on the availability of alternative accessories, such as those with an extended battery.
Price: 64 GB - $369, 128 GB - $399. This puts the Osmo Nano in direct competition with the basic GoPro models. DJI Osmo Nano is expected to be announced on 10 August.
