A $175,000 work computer or what you know about corruption
How much does a good working computer cost? Let's say $1000, maybe $2000, ok, $5000 - it all depends on your needs and financial capabilities.
But apparently, one former mayor of a Philippine city had needs so great and capabilities so unlimited that he bought a PC for a six-figure sum!
Here's What We Know
The new mayor of San Dionisio, Sally Lopez, drew public attention to the fact that her predecessor bought a PC for $175,000.
No, the computer's case is not made of gold and diamonds, and not only does it not consist of top-of-the-line components, it doesn't even have a discrete graphics card!
It has an old-style case, an Asus PRIME H610-R mATX motherboard, an ordinary hard drive and, judging by the cooler, it has a relatively fresh Intel processor. The price of such a computer won't exceed $1000, but that's what corruption looks like. The former mayor listed a huge amount of money in the documents, apparently hoping that no one would check where the taxpayers' money went.
