The well-known DxOMark test has reached the cameras of the new Pixel 10 Pro XL and they have shown a very good result. The total score was 163 points, which put it in fourth place in the world after the Huawei Pura 80 Ultra, Oppo Find X8 Ultra, and Vivo X200 Ultra. As you can see, Pixel has the best cameras among non-Chinese smartphone manufacturers.

Key metrics

  • Photo: 173 points - excellent exposure, wide dynamic range, accurate white balance, natural colours
  • Video: 160 points - stable exposure, good detail, low noise in daylight
  • Portrait: 168 - good background highlighting, accurate skin tone reproduction
  • Outdoor shooting: 184 - one of the best scores among all smartphones
  • Telephoto (5x): high detail at native zoom, but loss of quality at medium settings

Pixel 10 Pro XL cameras

  • Main: 50 MP, 1/1.3" sensor, f/1.68, OIS, Octa PD - received 173 points
  • Ultra-wide: 48 MP, 1/2.55" sensor, f/1.7, Quad PD - received 158 points, a little noise was detected, but still one of the best wide-angle cameras on the market
  • Telephoto: 48 MP, 1/2.55" sensor, f/2.8, Quad PD, OIS - received 141 points, showing excellent results on optical 5x zoom, but the algorithms ate up some small details

Although the hardware cameras remain the same as in Pixel 9 Pro XL, the new Tensor G5 chip has significantly improved photo and video processing. AI features such as Video Boost and Pro Res Zoom add depth and clarity, especially when zooming in at high magnification (up to 100x).

Pixel 10 Pro XL delivers consistent photo and video quality in a variety of conditions, with accurate exposure and balanced detail in most use cases. Low-light photography and zoom still fall short of the best competitors, but overall the cameras are among the best balanced cameras in smartphones.
