Huawei is preparing for a major presentation on 4 September in China, where, in addition to the three-fold Mate XTs smartphone, the company will present a new compact tablet - MatePad Mini. On this occasion, the brand has published an official poster that reveals the design of the new product.

Design and form factor

MatePad Mini is positioned as a "small tablet - big phone". Huawei is likely to position it as a crossover gadget between phones and tablets, as Samsung did in 2011 with its 5.3-inch phablet. The device has two main cameras designed in the style of the flagship MatePad Pro series. The slim body, minimal camera protrusion and narrow bezels around the display create an impression of lightness and visual immersion.

Functionality for creativity and work

The tablet supports the proprietary stylus and the Huawei Notes and Born to Draw apps. A network indicator is visible on the screen, confirming the presence of a SIM card slot. Although there is no "4G" marking, this may indicate support for another high-speed connection. Support for NearLink (XingLian) technology is also declared for a fast and stable connection with low latency.
