The plane of European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen found itself in a potentially dangerous situation when landing at Bulgaria's Plovdiv airport.

Here's What We Know

The aircraft's navigation system was completely disabled and the pilots had to make an emergency landing using paper maps.

According to the Financial Times, GPS navigation was completely suppressed in the area of the airport. Direct impact of Russian REBs is considered as the main version.

Informed sources confirmed that "it was undeniable interference".

Of course, the investigation of the incident has just begun and the involvement of Russia has not been proven, but we note that the terrorist and aggressor country is actively jamming GPS in the Baltic Sea countries and several times European aircraft have lost navigation, which could lead to a disaster.

Bulgaria's air traffic control service confirmed the incident in a statement to the Financial Times.
