South Africa has offered perhaps the whitest BMW M3 Touring saloon in the world
BMW has added an unusual option for the M3 Touring station wagon - an all-white leather interior. In other countries white seats were already offered, but in the South African market for the first time it is possible to order an interior in which practically everything is white: chairs, tunnel, centre console, door panels, carpet, pillars, ceiling and even the steering wheel.
Here's What We Know
Only carbon fibre inserts on the front panel, two large displays and black seat belts stand out from the white extravaganza. Otherwise - total monochrome, from which it is difficult to take your eyes off.
From a practical point of view, the decision is, to put it mildly, controversial. Universal M3 Touring combines more than 530 hp and excellent dynamics with the convenience of a family car, which means that many owners will carry children, drinks and everything that leaves traces in the white interior. Keeping such an interior in perfect shape will be a challenge.
There are other nuances as well. White leather on the front panel can create a strong glare into the windscreen and can fade or yellow in the sun over time.
For those who aren't prepared to put up with such difficulties, BMW offers many alternative combinations - for example, with black elements and inserts in bright colours like Yas Marina Blue or Kyalami Orange.
