The new Ghost of Yōtei trailer showed a brutal fight involving a huge Ōdachi sword

Sony and Sucker Punch studio presented another trailer of Ghost of Yōtei action game, which showed another traditional Japanese weapon available to the main character Atsu.

Here's What We Know

Earlier developers have already demonstrated how the heroine masterfully wields Kusarigama, Yari spear and Teppo firearms, now gamers can appreciate the huge two-handed katana Odachi (Ōdachi).

Real-life samurai needed a squire to draw the one-and-a-half metre odachi sword from its sheath, but Atsu herself is perfectly capable of handling the giant weapon and, judging by the trailer, deftly and brutally slays her enemies with it.

Judging by the comments under the trailer, gamers were impressed not only by the brutality of the game, but also by the elaboration of the smallest details and even how realistically the blood of enemies covered Atsu's clothes.

When We Can Expect It

Ghost of Yōtei will be released on 2 October 2025 exclusively on PlayStation 5.
