Huawei continues to develop TWS headphones and has released a new generation - FreeBuds 7i. The company positions FreeBuds 7i as a mid-range TWS variant, which, however, has support for gesture control and voice assistant.

Huawei FreeBuds 7i are equipped with an updated Huawei Smart Dynamic Noise Cancellation 4.0 noise cancellation system. The system uses three microphones along with a large 8mm² air duct camera to counteract external noise. Huawei claims that the average full-range noise cancellation depth is 28 dB. The ANC system has a 50% lower latency and can adapt to a changing environment in less than 0.5 seconds.

FreeBuds 7i has a bone conduction microphone. This system allows you to capture the user's voice even if people are talking nearby in the same sound range. The new AI-based noise cancellation system (where can we go without it in 2025?) suppresses up to 90 dB of background noise, providing clearer communication.

The headphones also support spatial audio with head position tracking, creating a 360-degree surround sound effect. Huawei FreeBuds 7i support voice control via Huawei's Xiaoyi assistant for calls, music and alarms. They also support gesture control, such as nodding to answer or shaking from side to side to reject a call. The touch-sensitive outer surface lets you adjust the volume, switch ANC modes, and change tracks directly from the headphones.
