Against the background of the rapid development of portable gaming devices, as confirmed by another announcement from Lenovo, a Chinese enthusiast known under the nickname Pure DIY, presented a truly unconventional concept: a portable console with an ultra-wide 32:9 format screen.

Here's What We Know

This device looks like a hybrid of a gaming tablet and a miniature ultra-wide monitor, and such an idea has already sparked lively discussions in the gamer community.

The screen is the centrepiece of the concept. Its diagonal is about 12 inches, which in combination with ultra-high resolution allows you to fully immerse yourself in the game. The author of the idea showed the work of the gadget on the example of a racing game and a car simulator and the gameplay looks incredibly cool.

The 32:9 ratio makes the console unlike any other model and opens new opportunities for mobile gaming, although the size of the device somewhat goes against the concept of portability.

The gadget's stuffing is also impressive: it is based on a powerful AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor - an eight-core chip based on Zen 5 architecture, capable of handling AAA games.

The device features detachable controllers like the Nintendo Switch and a built-in stand that allows the console to be used as a mini-PC.

It's still hard to gauge the potential of this format, but the device looks unusual and is generating interest. It would be quite unsurprising if a single concept, hand-crafted by an amateur, is realised by one of the major companies and released on the market.
