Amazon MGM Studios continues to sponsor and release film adaptations of well-known video games. After the successful premiere of the Fallout series and announcements of similar projects in the Mass Effect and Tomb Raider franchises, the company has announced another film adaptation.

Here's What We Know

The series of dramatic cinematic games Life is Strange is best suited for film projects with live actors, and today Amazon has confirmed that it has given the go-ahead to the project.

Story Kitchen Studios, with the support of LuckyChap Entertainment, will be directly involved in the production. Story Kitchen has already produced several successful video game adaptations, with Sifu, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Dredge, Vampire Survivors and more to come.

Life is Strange will be produced by Square Enix, the game publisher that owns the rights to the franchise, and the showrunner will be Charlie Covell, best known for writing Misfits and The End of the F***ing World.

The original Life is Strange tells the story of young Max Caulfield, who unexpectedly gains the ability to travel through time and uses it to save her friend Chloe, but her actions disrupt the natural course of events, which leads to unpredictable consequences.

The release date of the series is unknown.
