Mercedes has unveiled the electric GLC with a huge illuminated grille
The new Mercedes-Benz GLC EQ Technology was officially presented at the IAA Mobility 2025 Motor Show in Munich. The electric crossover will enter the assembly line in the first half of 2026 and will replace the EQC in the model range.
Here's What We Know
The GLC EQ retains the proportions of the petrol GLC, but gets new bumpers and lighting technology. The main emphasis is on the front grille with 942 LED points of illumination. The signature motif of "stars" has been transferred to the LED lights and taillights.
The interior is designed in the spirit of the latest innovations of the brand: 39.1-inch (99.3 cm) MBUX Hyperscreen stretches across the full width of the panel, surrounded by round deflectors and supplemented with backlighting. The centre console houses two wireless chargers and cupholders.
Wheelbase has grown to 2,972 mm (+80 mm to the version with internal combustion engine), which has given more space in the cabin. Boot space is 570 litres, plus a 128-litre front boot. All versions use a 94 kWh battery. The line-up starts with the GLC 400 4MATIC version with 483bhp. Four more modifications will appear later.
The range is up to 713 kilometres in the WLTP cycle. Charging up to 330 kW is supported: up to 300 kilometres can be topped up in 10 minutes.
Like the S-Class, the electric GLC is available with Airmatic air suspension, rear wheel steering and an electronic assistant that uses Google Maps data to optimise suspension settings depending on current road conditions.
Prices will be known closer to the start of sales.
