Apple is going to announce the iPhone 17 Air tomorrow, and according to leaks, it will be the thinnest premium smartphone on the market - only 5.5 mm thick, which is slightly less than the Galaxy S25 Edge (5.8 mm). But for the sake of this thinness, we had to sacrifice a lot.

The iPhone Air is also lighter (145 versus 163 grams) and this difference is not just for fun. The battery in the iPhone 17 Air will have a capacity of about 3,036 mAh, while the Galaxy S25 Edge offers almost 3,900 mAh. The difference is significant - more than 800 mAh, which could mean additional hours of operation without recharging in the case of Samsung.

The screens of both devices support a refresh rate of 120 Hz, but the Galaxy has an advantage in resolution and diagonal. Its 6.7-inch display with a resolution of 3120×1440 looks more detailed compared to the iPhone's 6.6-inch screen, which has 2740×1260 pixels.

Another point is the RAM. While the iPhone 17 Air is equipped with 8GB of RAM, the Galaxy S25 Edge offers 12GB, giving it an advantage in multitasking, gaming, and running heavy applications.

Apple can mask some of these shortcomings with software, but overall, we can see that Apple makes more sacrifices for design than Samsung.
