Xiaomi Moaan InkPalm Mini Plus 2: Android e-reader with 512 GB of storage
Xiaomi has introduced a new e-reader in China, the Moaan InkPalm Mini Plus 2, which could become a serious competitor to the Kindle. It runs on Android 14 and has up to 512 GB of internal storage, which is significantly more than most analogues, which are usually limited to 32 GB. However, hardly anyone needs such a large storage in an e-book.
The device is much more compact than the Kindle Paperwhite and is closer to smartphones than to typical e-readers. If you add to that the low weight, it's not hard to imagine how portable this device is, which you can carry with you absolutely everywhere.
Main features:
- Display: 5.84-inch e-ink screen with a resolution of 1440×720 pixels, AG glass, 32 levels of colour temperature and 256 shades of grey
- Processor: Rockchip RK3566
- RAM: 6 GB
- Battery: 2,250 mAh
- Memory: up to 512 GB
- Dimensions: 158.9 × 78.6 × 6.9 mm - more compact than the Kindle Paperwhite
- Weight: 140 g
- Connectivity: Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi 5.
- Additional features: built-in speakers for listening to audiobooks
Unfortunately, the device is still exclusive to the Chinese market, and a global release is unlikely. The recommended price on Chinese sites is $196, and the sales start on 22 September.
