During certification, it became known that Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra will not receive 60W fast charging
Samsung doesn't seem to be planning any revolutionary changes to charging speeds for its upcoming flagship Galaxy S26 Ultra. According to a new certification that has appeared in the Chinese regulator's database, the device will continue to support only 45W wired charging, the same as its predecessor. This means that the rumoured 60W support will not be available. The smartphone will be charged via the standard 10V/4.5A or 15V/3A modes that have long been used in the Galaxy S line.
This decision is causing a mixed reaction among the brand's fans, especially as competitors - in particular Chinese manufacturers - have long since crossed the 100W and more threshold. Even Apple, which has traditionally been in no hurry to introduce fast charging, offered 40W in its iPhone 17 Pro. Against this background, Samsung looks rather conservative.
The company explains its decision by caring about battery durability and user safety. At the same time, experts suggest that the limitations are also related to the design of the device - the basic Galaxy models have a less efficient cooling system, which makes it difficult to implement more powerful charging without the risk of overheating.
Another compromise may be the camera. According to preliminary data, the 3x zoom module in the Galaxy S26 Ultra will have a smaller sensor than in the S25 Ultra. This may affect the quality of photos, especially in low light conditions, which is already a concern among mobile photography fans.
Nevertheless, Samsung is actively preparing for the launch of the new series, which is expected in January 2026. The company has already launched an advertising campaign, offering customers a "Mystery Box" - a set of bonuses that includes a protective glass and a branded case.
