It's official: Final Fantasy VII Remake will release on Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series in January 2026
Square Enix has named a release date for Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade on Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series.
Here's What We Know
In a special trailer, the Japanese developer revealed that the expanded first part of the Final Fantasy 7 remake trilogy will be available on said consoles on 22 January 2026.
The game was originally released in 2020 and is currently a PlayStation console exclusive, but is also available on PC.
An important nuance is that Square Enix has confirmed the release of the entire (as yet unfinished) trilogy on the Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series, but it's not yet known whether the third instalment, which is expected in 2027, will be given temporary PlayStation exclusive status or released on all platforms at once. Given Square Enix's new business strategy, the second option seems more likely.
