The budget Galaxy A16 5G became the best-selling Android smartphone of Q2 2025, but lost out to the iPhone 16 lineup

Counterpoint Research has analysed smartphone sales in the second quarter of 2025 and has provided clear statistics.

Here's What We Know

According to the study, the global smartphone market is virtually unchanged in the second quarter of 2025. The iPhone 16 is still the most in-demand model, ahead of the iPhone 16 Pro Max and iPhone 16 Pro.

Among Android devices, the budget Galaxy A16 5G became the top seller, ahead of the Galaxy A06 4G, which took fifth place. And the Galaxy S25 Ultra was the only Android flagship in the top sales for the second quarter.

Rounding out the top ten was the iPhone 15, while the only brand to fall between Apple and Samsung was Redmi with its 14C 4G smartphone (ninth place).
