According to authoritative analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the launch of iPhone 17 sales was more successful than the launch of the iPhone 16 lineup. Pre-orders in the first weekend showed a steady increase in interest in the new models.

  • the total volume of pre-orders for iPhone 17 Pro Max, Pro and standard version was higher by 25% compared to the iPhone 16 lineup. At the same time, delivery times increased by only one week, which indicates a good balance between production and demand;
  • The iPhone Air, despite being available without a wait, is not showing as strong a start as the iPhone 16 Plus, but production volumes of the Air in the third quarter are three times higher than the 16 Plus in 2024. However, Apple has not previously had a model with a similar positioning, so final conclusions about demand should be made later;
  • the leader in popularity is the most expensive model - iPhone 17 Pro Max. Its production in the third quarter increased by 60% compared to the 16 Pro Max, while delivery times remained at the same level.

Overall, the iPhone 17 lineup has shown a great start, which will have a positive impact on Apple's financial results for the third quarter of 2025. However, according to the analyst, the impact on partner stocks will be limited - investors are more focused on the expected innovations that Apple is preparing for 2026.
