Aston Martin will be the first to get Pirelli's smart tyres
Future Aston Martin models will be the first cars to feature the new Pirelli Cyber Tyre system. Built directly into the tread, sensors weighing just 0.3 grams will transmit real-time data on pressure, temperature and wear.
Here's What We Know
The information is sent via Bluetooth to an electronic unit and processed by Pirelli algorithms created in conjunction with Bosch Engineering. The system allows ABS, ESP, traction control and the transmission to instantly adjust to the situation. In addition, the driver will be able to monitor the condition of the tyres and their suitability for different conditions directly on the display in the car.
In the future, such sensors will be able to be charged by kinetic energy and will receive 5G support to exchange data not only with the car, but also with the road infrastructure.
