MediaTek has officially confirmed the date of the presentation of its new flagship processor - Dimensity 9500. The event will take place on 22 September. This chip is expected to power premium smartphones from Vivo, Oppo, and other brands.
Dimensity 9500 specifications
- CPU configuration: 1+3+4 cores - one ultra-powerful Travis proprietary architecture core (4.21 GHz), three powerful Alto cores (3.50 GHz) and four energy-efficient Gelas cores (2.7 GHz)
- Architecture: Travis and Alto are representatives of the new Arm X9 architecture, Gelas is an updated A7 series
- Graphics: Mali-G1 Ultra MC12 - updated architecture with over 40% efficiency gain and improved ray tracing
- Gaming performance: leaks indicate more than 100 frames per second in games with ray tracing, but the real numbers will be known after the presentation
- AI: NPU 9.0 with performance up to 100 TOPS (for comparison, the Apple A18 neural module in the iPhone 16 Pro can calculate 35.0 TOPS). we must pay tribute to Mediatek, unlike the video core, their NPUs are more powerful than Qualcomm's NPUs in the same price segment, but Qualcomm has its own set of APIs in which their neural module has better performance. One way or another, Mediatek has a competitive powerful neural module, the new generation of which may well outperform its competitors.
- Memory: support for LPDDR5x (10667 Mbps) and UFS 4.1
The first smartphones with Dimensity 9500
The Vivo X300 Pro with satellite connectivity scored over 4 million points in AnTuTu, becoming the first Android device to achieve this result. The Vivo X300 lineup is expected to debut on 13 October and the Oppo Find X9 on 21 October in China.
2nm Dimensity 9600 in active development
MediaTek also hinted at progress in the development of the Dimensity 9600, which will be manufactured on a 2-nm process. Mass production is scheduled for the second half of 2026.
