Meta unveiled Ray-Ban Gen 2 smartglasses with double the battery life, Meta AI integration and 3K video capture
At the annual Connect conference, Meta presented not only the innovative Ray-Ban Display smartglasses, but also Ray-Ban Gen 2 - an updated and improved version of the popular gadget.
Here's What We Know
Visually, the novelty does not differ from the first Ray-Ban model, but inside there is a powerful system capable of recording video in 3K, broadcasting audio, translating speech in real time and interacting with Meta AI. What's more, it's all screen-free and distraction-free.
Key features of Ray-Ban Gen 2
The built-in camera now supports shooting in 3K resolution at 30 FPS or 1440p and 1200p at 60 FPS. Maximum video length is 3 minutes, and hyperlapse and slow motion modes will be coming in upcoming updates.
Integration with Meta AI allows you to have a dialogue with the AI, receive responses, control the device with your voice, and even translate conversations in real time. The new Conversation Focus feature amplifies the voice of the person you are talking to, making communication comfortable even in noisy environments.
Ray-Ban Gen 2's battery life has been doubled and now lasts up to 8 hours without recharging, while the charging case provides up to 48 hours of battery life. Fast charging allows 50% of the charge to be restored in just 20 minutes.
The model is available in three frame options: the Wayfarer, Headliner and the new Skyler designed specifically for Gen 2. The price starts at $379, and sales have already started in the US and several European countries.
