Yesterday, we reported about the leaked One UI 8.5 firmware, which is expected to bring more changes than version 8.0 and will be released in early 2026.

In addition to data about the innovations, among them the Private Display mode, information about the next update was also found in the firmware code.

Here's What We Know

Analysing the code of One UI 8.5 revealed that Samsung is actively working on the next major update of its own shell - One UI 9.0.

Unfortunately, there are no details about One UI 9.0 yet, but it is likely that this firmware will be based already on Android 17 and will be released in autumn 2026.

Presumably, One UI 9.0 will debut on the new foldable flagships Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8. They will likely be sold with the new shell pre-installed.
