Borderlands 4 release on Nintendo Switch 2 postponed indefinitely - Gearbox tries to avoid another scandal
The problematic release of the shooter Borderlands 4 has turned into a public scandal involving Randy Pitchford. The game suffers from terrible performance and almost complete lack of proper optimisation even on the most powerful PCs, and the developer, instead of admitting and fixing his own mistakes, blames gamers for weak hardware and offers them to tinker with the settings.
It seems that on Nintendo Switch 2 the situation with Borderlands 4 is even worse, because Gearbox Software has urgently postponed the release of this version.
Here's What We Know
A few days before the release, the developers announced that the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Borderlands 4 has been postponed indefinitely.
The studio justified this decision with the desire to "provide the best gaming experience", for which they need to spend extra time. And judging by the state of the game on PC and powerful consoles - they'll need a lot of time.
The company has cancelled digital pre-orders of Borderlands 4 for Switch 2. Users can already get their money back on their own or through an automatic refund from 26 September. Pre-orders will reopen at a later date.
