Nikon has introduced the ZR, a new full-frame camera in the Z CINEMA series, created in collaboration with RED Digital Cinema. It is the smallest and lightest model in the range (around 540g without battery), targeting cinematographers and creatives.
Main features of Nikon ZR:
- Support for the new R3D NE format, based on RED R3D RAW, with 6K/59.94p (12-bit RAW) and 4K/119.88p recording
- Dynamic range of over 15 stops, with base ISO 800 and 6400
- Compatible with the RED colour palette, the ability to shoot in a format compatible with RED cameras
- Built-in Cinematic video mode and nine RED presets
- The world's first camera to support 32-bit float audio for both internal and external microphones. The built-in microphone uses Nokia OZO Audio and offers 5 modes from interviews to ASMR
- 4-inch display (3.07 million dots, 1000 nits, DCI-P3), which allows you to work without an external monitor
- New EXPEED 7 processor enables processing of large raw video files and fast focusing
- Z-mount mount with a minimum flange distance of 16 mm - a wide range of optics can be mounted

As is easy to understand, Nikon is trying to catch up with Sony's compact cameras, which have significantly pushed Nikon and Canon aside with the development of compact full-frame mirrorless cameras.
