The hit adaptation of Minecraft will get a sequel: the first poster revealed the premiere date A Minecraft Movie 2

Warner Bros. and Legendary have announced the sequel to A Minecraft Movie — the 2025 film that became the most successful video game adaptation and made a splash among the audience.

What we know

The creators do not disclose details of A Minecraft Movie 2 and have only released a poster featuring iconic pixel pickaxes and indicating the exact premiere date — July 23, 2027.

It is unknown whether the famous Jack Black will return in the sequel, but actor Jason Momoa, who played one of the lead roles in the first film, will definitely be back.

The director of the second part will once again be Jared Hess. He, along with Chris Galletta, is writing the script.

The producers of A Minecraft Movie 2 are also known, they will be Mary Parent, Cale Boyter, Roy Lee, Eric McLeod, Kayleen Walters, and Torfi Frans Ólafsson.
