Vivo released OriginOS 6 based on Android 16 — here is the update schedule for Vivo and iQOO smartphones for the next 7 months
Chinese manufacturer Vivo is releasing a new version of the proprietary skin — OriginOS 6, which is based on Android 16. The company confirmed the list of Vivo and iQOO devices that will receive the update and also released the official update schedule.
What's new in OriginOS 6
At the annual developer conference, Vivo introduced three platforms at once: OriginOS 6, BlueOS 3, and CarLink 3.0. The main focus was on OriginOS — the new generation skin for Vivo and iQOO smartphones, which brings significant interface changes:
- Updated design of the home screen, lock screen, and proprietary applications
- Deeper customization of widgets, inspired by Apple Liquid Glass style
- Round app icons and smoother animations
- Blue River Smooth Engine — a new engine for improved performance, faster interface rendering, and app switching
- Voice AI assistant
- AI resume formation for quick content review
- AI photo editor with the ability to enhance quality, remove objects or people (even from Live Photos)
- Circle to Search 2.0 — improved recognition of on-screen elements
When to expect the update
The global release of OriginOS 6 is scheduled for October 15, 2025. The company also confirmed the launch of an open beta version, which will be available for a number of Vivo and iQOO models. Update schedule:
