Xiaomi has introduced a new flagship robot vacuum cleaner, the Mijia Sweeping and Mopping Robot 5.

What is known

The novelty has an ultra-thin body with a thickness of only 7.9 cm, which allows it to easily pass under furniture and in narrow spaces. At the same time, the suction power reaches 23,000 Pa, making it one of the most powerful models in the Xiaomi lineup.

One of the key features is the intelligent object recognition system, capable of distinguishing up to 130 types of obstacles — from socks and slippers to cables and thresholds up to 40 mm high.

Navigation is managed by a retractable dToF laser radar, which automatically raises and lowers depending on the height of surrounding objects, ensuring accurate space scanning.

The package includes a self-cleaning station capable of collecting trash and dirt for up to 75 days without user intervention. A wet cleaning system with robotic manipulators and a triple camera is also implemented, recognizing the type of contamination and adjusting the cleaning intensity.

Control is carried out through the proprietary Mijia app, with support for automation scenarios and integration into the Xiaomi smart home ecosystem.

The Mijia Sweeping and Mopping Robot 5 is already available for pre-order in the Chinese market at a price of $450 (converted from yuan), and a global release is expected a bit later.
