Bloomberg: Apple is working on an improved version of AirPods Pro 3 and two models of AirPod 5
In September Apple unveiled the flagship TWS headphones AirPods Pro 3 with a built-in heart rate monitor that allows you to track your heart rate and speech AI translation features. The headphones are excellent, but completely unrepairable.
Authoritative insider and Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman reported that the company is wasting no time and has already begun creating an improved version of these headphones.
What is known
In the new issue of the weekly news digest Power On, Gurman revealed that Apple is actively working on the next-generation H3 chip, which will be used in the next models of AirPods.
The insider did not specify the name of the headphone model; it could be AirPods Pro 4, but it is possible the company will give it another name. However, in any case, Gurman does not expect significant changes, and these will be the same AirPods Pro 3 with some improvements.
The updated version of AirPods Pro 3 is expected in 2026.
In addition, the American corporation is developing two models of AirPod 5, but with a high probability, they will not have a heart rate measurement function, although some health monitoring options will still be present. The release dates for them are not yet disclosed.
