Fujifilm announced the instax mini LiPlay+ — an updated version of its hybrid instant camera, combining digital photography, analog printing, and multimedia features.

The novelty became the successor to the original 2019 model and received a number of notable improvements, including a dual camera, support for sound QR codes, and enhanced personalization features.

What is known

The key innovation of the instax mini LiPlay+ is a system of two cameras: a main (28 mm) and a wide-angle front camera for selfies (23 mm), which can be switched with one press. The camera is equipped with a 3” display — it allows you to preview and select photos before printing.

As before, the device prints photos on instax mini film, but now this can be done not only from the camera, but also from a smartphone — via Bluetooth and the proprietary app.

One of the most unusual features is the Instax Sound Print: the camera records a three-second audio clip, which is formatted into a QR code and applied to the photo. When scanned by a smartphone, the code plays the sound — voice, music, or the atmosphere of the moment, adding emotional context to photos and making the memory “come alive.” Through the app, you can create Instax Album slide shows of photos with sound and use the Layered Photo mode to overlay images from both cameras.

The updated body has become more ergonomic, with an improved screen for navigation and preview. The instax mini LiPlay+ camera supports microSD cards and has built-in memory for about 45 pictures. Available in three colors: Rose Gold, Midnight Black, and Pearl White.

When to expect

The instax mini LiPlay+ will go on sale in October 2025, priced at around €235.
