Duracell launches a network of fast charging stations for electric vehicles in the UK
The well-known battery manufacturer is investing £200 million over ten years to create a network of charging stations with a capacity of up to 1000 kW. The first six facilities will open in 2025.
What is known
Duracell has announced the launch of its subsidiary Duracell E-Charge, a nationwide network of fast-charging stations for electric vehicles in the UK. The deployment of the network will begin later this year and continue into 2026. The operator will be Elektra Charge.
The charging hubs will be developed and financed by the UK charging infrastructure developer The EV Network. This company also operates its own charging network covering 43 locations with more than 300 charging stations.
The deployment of Duracell E-Charge stations will take place in strategic locations such as highways, commercial and entertainment facilities, and city entrances.
