Rivian electric vehicles will feature Plug & Charge auto-payment
The American manufacturer of electric pickups and SUVs will add the Plug & Charge automatic payment feature to the R1T and R1S models at Electrify America and Ionna stations across the United States. It will be included in the upcoming 2025.38 software update.
What's known
Plug & Charge means that owners can simply plug in, and the charging session will start automatically without needing to pay on-site. However, the function only works if a payment method is linked to the Rivian account.

Moreover, Rivian is integrating these two companies' DC fast chargers into the navigation system of their vehicles. Drivers will see real-time charger availability. Electrify America has over 1000 DC fast charging stations, while Ionna has just over a dozen. Both networks offer CCS and NACS connectors.
This is complemented by more than 20,000 Tesla Supercharger stations. Rivian owners can also use them via the app with the Plug & Charge feature.
