Casio has announced the release of the new Pro Trek PRW-B1000 travel watch series, designed for outdoor enthusiasts, climbers, and expeditions.

What is known

The PRW-B1000 series was inspired by the famous El Capitan rock formation in Yosemite National Park. The stainless steel bezel is designed in the shape of the vertical faces of the cliff, and the mounted auxiliary dial near the "9 o'clock" indicator is styled like a climbing hook.

The watch is equipped with a case made of UL94 V-0 certified biopolymer resin, which is self-extinguishing when exposed to fire. The strap is made of environmentally friendly cellulose nanofiber (CNF), which is resistant to temperature fluctuations and mechanical stress.

Inside the watch is the proprietary Triple Sensor system, which includes a compass, barometer, altimeter, and thermometer. The Tough Solar technology provides charging from sunlight and even low indoor lighting.

The Casio PRW-B1000 series is the flagship of the Pro Trek line and includes two models (PRW-B1000-1 and PRW-B1000-5), continuing the philosophy of the previous PRW-6900 series, maintaining a large case and a focus on durability. The main difference between the Casio Pro Trek PRW-B1000-1 and PRW-B1000-5 is the color scheme of the case and strap. Functionally, they are identical.

Prices and regional availability for the Casio PRW-B1000 will be announced later this month.
