The SUV of Chery's premium brand crossed China's largest river
The Jetour G700 became the first car to cross the Yangtze, China's largest river. The crossing took place on October 16 when the new model officially entered the Chinese market.
What is known
The Jetour Zongheng G700 covered 1,480 meters in water, handling a current of 5-10 km/h. The average speed was 7 km/h until the car reached the Nanlong terminal on the opposite shore.
Jetour is a premium brand of Chery. The G700 model combines a 2.0-liter turbo engine with 208 hp with two electric motors. The total output is 751 hp and 795 Nm of torque. According to the manufacturer, the average fuel consumption is 1.39 l/100 km, and acceleration from 0-100 km/h takes 4.6 seconds. In water, it moved like an amphibious car, thanks to two propellers in the rear bumper.
The SUV stores energy in a CATL 4C Shenxing battery. The total range is about 1,400 km, and fast charging from 30 to 80% takes only 10 minutes. Exclusively on electricity, the G700 can travel approximately 150 km.
The model's length is 5.2 meters, width is 2.05 meters, height is 1.96 meters, wheelbase is 2.87 meters, and maximum ground clearance is 320 mm. The maximum ford depth is up to 970 mm.
The G700 is equipped with the Falcon 700 driver assistance system based on 33 sensors, including advanced features such as automatic terrain recognition.
The Jetour G700 interior features a central 15.6-inch screen, a 35.4-inch display under the windshield, a three-spoke steering wheel, ventilated, heated seats with massage, a 17.3-inch screen for rear passengers, and even a built-in refrigerator with a temperature range from -6 to +50 °C.
In the Chinese market, the Jetour Zongheng G700 is already available. The price, depending on configuration and version, ranges from 329,900 to 414,900 yuan or about 39,800–49,700 euros.
