Elden Ring will not be released on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2025: FromSoftware needs more time to optimize the game
The hardcore action RPG Elden Ring was supposed to be one of the well-known games planned to be ported to Nintendo Switch 2 in 2025.
It has long been suggested that this would not happen within the stated timeframe and, finally, Japanese developers have published an official announcement regarding this.
What is known
FromSoftware studio announced that the release of Elden Ring Tarnished Edition on Nintendo Switch 2 has been postponed to an unspecified date in 2026.
The Japanese authors, in their characteristic manner, mentioned that they need more time for the technical improvement of the game, but let us remind you that during the summer and autumn exhibitions, journalists had the opportunity to try Elden Ring on the Nintendo Switch 2 and were horrified by the game's performance. Undoubtedly, it needs additional optimization since releasing the game in such a state is impossible.
Let us remind you that several additional classes, armor sets, weapon types, and other small innovations will appear in the Tarnished Edition. Over time, the new edition will also be available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.
