The Mercedes-AMG G63 SUV received a special Offroad Pro version
Orders have started in Australia for a new, even more off-road, version of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class. The powerful AMG G63 version was taken as a base and prepared for more confident traversing of unpaved locations.
What is known
The 2026 model year Mercedes-AMG G63 Offroad Pro received an AMG Traction Pro system, which manages the distribution of torque to each wheel through seven different stages to improve traction on slippery roads. Also exclusive to the special G-Class is the AMG Active Ride Control system, which enhances wheel articulation and suspension.
The Active Ride Control system includes an active stabilization package with specially tuned shock absorber settings for off-road, achieved through increased piston diameters and enlarged reservoirs.
It is also equipped with the AMG Active Balance Control system to improve stability on various surfaces such as sand, gravel, stones, and other challenging areas.
The Offroad Pro model is equipped with all-terrain tires instead of standard road rubber on 20-inch matte black alloy wheels, as well as rear mud flaps and rubber mats in the cabin and trunk. Plus, a roof rack is installed on the roof, and a ladder is mounted on the rear.
Inside, there is also an AMG Performance steering wheel trimmed in Nappa leather, a Burmester audio system, wireless smartphone charging, and temperature-controlled cup holders.
The G63 Offroad Pro is equipped with a standard 4.0-liter V8 gasoline engine with twin turbocharging and a nine-speed automatic transmission, so power figures remain unchanged: 430 kW and 850 Nm of torque.
At a price of 383,900 Australian dollars (about 250,000 dollars), the new Offroad Pro version is 15,500 dollars (10,100 dollars) more expensive than the ordinary G63 version.
