Amazon found an inexpensive alternative to delivery vans
Also, a subsidiary of Rivian developed an electric quad bike with pedals. Amazon, which needs an inexpensive last-mile delivery vehicle, has shown interest in this development.
What is known
Like the TM-B electric bike, available for $4500, the TM-Q quad bike is equipped with a small battery, generator, and pedals. By pedaling, the rider generates electricity that powers a small electric motor.
However, while the TM-B has only two wheels, the TM-Q has four and can be configured in various ways. The model for Amazon was initially presented with a large cargo compartment at the back, reportedly capable of holding packages weighing over 400 pounds (180 kg).
The TM-Q is compact enough to legally ride on bike lanes and could be a convenient delivery solution in large densely populated cities. The e-commerce giant will use the T-MQ throughout the US and Europe. The novelty is expected to appear on the roads in the spring of 2026.
It is also reported that the TM-Q was designed and tested to automotive standards. Consumer-oriented versions of the quad bike will be supplied without a top trunk and with several versions of rear seats, including a bench capable of accommodating up to four children.
