Over the past year, Microsoft has finally buried the hatchet of the console war and is releasing more and more flagship Xbox games on PlayStation and Nintendo Switch.

The recent announcement of Halo: Campaign Evolved once again sparked conversations about the correctness/incorrectness of the American corporation's actions, as the famous exclusive, which has been a symbol of Xbox for more than twenty years, will appear on PlayStation for the first time.

What is known

The head of Xbox Game Studios, Matt Booty, commented on Microsoft's business strategy and his vision for future actions.

In an interview with The New York Times, Booty explained that Microsoft no longer considers PlayStation as its main competitor, as the entertainment industry has changed so much that there are now other leaders—social networks, streaming services, and of course, TikTok.

We strive to be where people are. Our main competitor is not another console. More and more often we compete with TikTok and movies/TV series.

It is hard to disagree with Booty's point of view, as people are spending more time on social networks and watching short videos, while more traditional forms of entertainment are gradually losing popularity.
