Media: 30,000 Amazon Employees to Lose Jobs Due to AI

A massive wave of layoffs will occur at Amazon, and it could start today, as reported by Reuters.

What is known

Reuters journalists received information that Amazon intends to lay off about 30,000 employees, which will be the largest job cut yet — even in 2022, when Amazon faced a severe crisis, 27,000 employees lost their jobs.

The layoffs will happen in many of Amazon's divisions, including logistics, payment systems, gaming, and cloud services.

The reason for this decision is simple: Amazon's management hopes to deeply integrate AI and replace human staff.
