Google will make AI Gemini 2.5 Pro free for Jio users in India

Google has entered into a strategic agreement with Reliance Intelligence, a subsidiary of the giant Reliance Industries, to make its artificial intelligence Gemini 2.5 Pro free for Indian subscribers of the mobile operator Jio. 

What is known

For 18 months, users of the Unlimited 5G plan will receive a subscription to Google AI Pro at no additional cost. This means access to Google's flagship AI, enhanced image and video generation capabilities using Nano Banana and Veo 3.1, as well as broader functionality of the NotebookLM service. The offer also provides 2 TB of cloud storage in Google services, with a total value reaching 35,100 rupees (about $396).

Initially, the promotion will be available only to Jio users aged 18 to 25 through the MyJio app, but it will later be extended to all customers with an eligible plan. Note that in 2020 Google invested $4.5 billion in Jio and obtained a 7.7% stake.
